Your TV automatically selects the most appropriate band setting when the Wi-Fi setting is on. Select Auto (2.4GHz Band) when connecting with devices that support 2.4 GHz only. I used Connectify and it output a wifi signal well, but the 3DS doesn't even recognize 5GHz signals. Many routers with 5GHz radios can be set to use 2.4GHz instead. FYI the Raspberry Pi 3B+ does support 5GHz - you can see the available Frequencies using this command: iw list To set up an Access Point using hostapd you need to set the following in the hostapd.conf file (the channel can vary between 34-165 - see output from iw list): Add 5GHz wifi support to the wifi module in Wyze Devices in addition the current 2.4GHz wifi.
