Help. To avoid main dealer I have now visited 3 garages to try solve issue. Warning lights showing esp/asr fault auto handbreak not working and abs failure. To date they have changed the o/s r sensor twice , first non main dealer and now main dealer.
First post here - just bought a 2007 C4 Picasso with 43,000 miles, Petrol version. I'm seeing the following three faults intermittently. 'FAULTY SIDELAMP' 'FAULTY LH BRAKE LIGHT' 'FAULTY INDICATOR' The brake light and sidelamps are definitely ok - checked these repeatedly last night - bright and working fine.
Ok the guy came round and he thinks it could be one of these issues. My battery is only ruuning at 11.7 so possibly a new battery needed, wiring of Electric Hand Brake or Electric Hand Brake ECU. All the signs were obviously showing a fault directed towards the handbrake.. He said he tested the brake pedal switch and got readings as ok.
Carry out the electric parking brake calibration procedure using a diagnostic tool. Activate the electric handbrake control. Check the immobilisation of the wheels. If this isn't done correctly, you will get an ESP / ABS fault from the main ESP ECU (as this is the master ECU and controls the EPB Slave ECU).

Hi, in my experience with my 07 plate exclusive the handbrake, esp/asr fault can be associated with numourous unrelated electrical faults. I had these faults a few weeks ago a couple of months after fitting a new clutch and flywheel, eventually the car threw the faults up and refused to even start or show any gears on the display.
I have a very similar problem on 2014 Grand picasso Exclusive plus. ESP/ASR system ABS braking system parking brake tyre under inflation fault Anti roll back failed All alarms come on when engine is started. Codes displayed on OBD scanner = P1445 additive adding U1213 Intersystems CAN. Anyone have any idea where i start?

The brake light switch is a well known fault - pretty easy to change (passenger foot well) and the new one (about £30 IIRC) comes with a modified loom section. Richard W.
I left it a minute and then restarted it and had no problem with anything, the engine and handbrake were working fine, and have been ever since. I rang my local Citroen dealer and they booked it in. However they now say that unless the fault is visible there is nothing they can do! Surely they could have carried out a diagnostic test or something.
