Overworld is very similar, and better in many ways. And despite being a brand new game, it has quite a ton of variety in content for the overworld. Quite a lot more structures/loot variety than default heroes 3 without mods. Combat though is a completely different game. It's just an autobattler, with spells..
Going back to seven resources instead of three. MMH7 is most in line with the earlier games. I like both games for their music, stories and atmosphere. 7 feels more alive. 6 has intricate unit abilities, 7 is somewhat simpler but adds flanking. I'd say 6 is a bit of a weird guy, 7 the newest version of 5.
Honestly, HoMM5 is Ubisofts best effort at the HoMM series. Its just HoMM3 has been my favorite since i was a kid. HoMM5 is definitively my second favorite. HoMM 5 did a really good thing (in my mind) by having 2 upgrade choices. Its a really cool aspect. HoMM 3 was just the peak of NWC and 3DOs hard work.
Destructive Magic - this skill does the best for dungeon, especially combined with Empowered Spells; Luck - well, not the best choice, but can be useful for elves and inferno. IMHO, Heroes 5 has more balanced skills than Heroes 3 and your choice isn't limited to Earth, Wind, Intelligence and Wisdom.
I think heroes 4 is a great game, I did never like heroes 3, heroes 5 was ok and had good graphics and storyline. but I found it to hard (I never finished the campagins on the original or any of the expansions) and heroes 3 is way to hard for me, but heroes 4 is a really good game and I like the combat system alot. although it could use a
There are a few things that Heroes 5 (I only play the Tribes of the East version) does better than Heroes 2 & 3: Better skill system, more difficult AI (if you are into that). They also found a compromise between the use of heroes in combat for Heroes 3 and 4; namely that you CAN get an attack in on an enemy stack (doing a little damage) but
Age of Wonders doesn't compare to Heroes of might & magic 3, but it does compare pretty accurately to another game from 20 years ago called "Master of Magic." In many ways, AOW3 feels like a continuation of MoM the ways Heroes feels like a continuation of a game from 25 years ago called "Kings Bounty." (No relation to the games on Steam
Both flight and teleportation appear to avoid all obstacles in their way, including terrain doodads, magical spells, and other creatures. Teleport also still has a range limited by the unit's speed, just as with the other two movement types, preventing Devils from being able to teleport across the entire battlefield without limit.
For other uses of the term, see logistics. Logistics is a skill in Heroes of Might and Magic V. Logistics gives the hero increased movement on the adventure map. Basic Logistics increases hero's movement speed over land by 10%. Advanced Logistics increases hero's movement speed over land by 20%. Expert Logistics increases hero's movement speed over land by 30%. The hero classes can learn
HoMM 1. I've only played a beta from Might & Magic Heroes 6, but from what I seen I think it's worse that HoMM 5. HoMM 1 it's a much simplified HoMM 2. The same cartoonish graphics, but only 4 towns/races: Knight, Barbarian, Sorceress and Warlock. Only primary skills (Attack, Defense, Power Spell and Knowledge).
All creatures in a 3 hex radius affected. Berserk is a 4 level spell in the School of Fire Magic. It is a mind spell that makes the target attack the nearest troop whether it is an ally or enemy. This also includes war machines. If the creature cannot attack anyone, the spell expires after 255 turns. AI cannot cast this spell (fixed in HotA).
War Machines is a skill in Heroes of Might and Magic V. War Machines makes ballista, catapult, first aid tent and ammo cart more effective. Basic War Machines increases attack, defense, and damage of the ballista. Increases catapult's damage and grants it a 30% chance to hit. The first aid tent receives increased healing power. The ammo cart grants an ability to increase attack of ranged units
Big fan of heroes 2. Big fan of heroes 3. Heroes 2 art was a bit more comical but brighter and accessible. I liked unit spread. Artifacts were powerful and seemingly a bit more scarce (plus could carry less) Heroes 3 is a great step up, excellent faction development, more features. I wish they could make em like they used to
